High School Tennis News - Uvalde Tournament

Your Knippa Varsity Rockcrushers Tennis Team competed in the Uvalde 2-day Tennis Tournament this past weekend. The Rockcrushers were the only 1A school entered into the tournament that brought about a 3rd place overall finish out of 13 schools. The individual results are as follows:

John Dong won 3rd in Boy's "B" singles.

Madison Barkley won 3rd in Girl's "B" singles.

Nayelli Avila & Nikki Layne won 3rd in Girl's "B" doubles.

Candace Suarez won Consolation in Girl's "A" singles.

Sara Esquivel & Ashlynn Barboza won Consolation in Girl's "A" doubles.

Jason Samarripa & Vincent Zavala advanced to the Semis in Boy's "A" doubles.

Luke Alejandro & Olivia Faust advanced to the Semis in Mixed "A" doubles.

Diego Esquivel competed in Boy's "A" singles with a 1-3 record.

Chevy Collins competed in Boy's "A" singles with a 2-2 record.

Kadyn Jones competed in Girl's "B" singles with a 2-2 record.

Landon Cox & Nate Perez competed in Boy's "B" doubles with a 1-3 record.

Coach Speer and Coach Alejandro are proud of the effort from all of the players and look forward to the next tournaments this weekend with Varsity going to Ingram and the Junior Varsity going back to Uvalde.
