KHS Tennis Team Competed In 18 Team Tournament In Uvalde

Knippa High School tennis players competed in a large eighteen team tourney hosted by Uvalde High School last weekend with the following results:

Bethany Keeney and Gabby Menchaca advanced through the girls 1 doubles draw to win third place. Emily Cortez and Lizandra Figueroa-Silva claimed 5th place in the girls 2 competition.

In the girls singles, Candace Suarez finished in 7th place in a 16 draw. In boys singles, Jason Samarripa finished in 5th place in the 2 division and Diego Esquivel placed 13th in the 1 division of boys singles.

In mixed doubles, Dylan DeLeon and Kloe Martinez placed 15th in the 1 division while Vincent Zavala and Nathalia Figueroa-Silva placed 6th in the 2 division.

Coach Radicke and Coach Speer report that competition was tough this round. Everyone played hard and look to improve for the Uvalde tourney scheduled for this next weekend.
