Congratulations to Jordan Lara for this impressive lifting at the UTSA Invitational Powerlifting meet last Thursday, January 12. Jordan came in 3rd by lifting a combined total of 1,015 pounds. Both Jordan, Brandon Capeheart and Ruben Henricksen were going against lifters from 6A, 5A and 4 A schools. This meet also put Jordan in the prestigious 1,000 pound club to be the first Knippa student to ever accomplish that. Ruben Henricksen made his rookie debut and came away with a total of a 700 pound combined score. That is pretty impressive for being his first powerlifting meet.

Congratulations to Jordan Lara and Tressa Reading for their impressive performances at the Carrizo Springs Powerlifting meet. Both Jordan and Tressa came away with a 3rd place medal in the predominantly 5A to 4A meet. Tressa hit her personal best and achieving her lift goal by getting a 575 combined pound total. Tressa squatted 240 pounds, benched 115 pounds and deadlifted 220 pounds. Congratulation to Brandon Capeheart for reaching his personal best in the most difficult weight class in Texas. Brandon Lifted a combined score of 900 pounds. He is only 100 pounds away from  making it in the 1000 pound club. Atlee McGuire had his rookie debut at the Carrizo meet and did very well for his fist meet.

As standings currently stand Tress Reading is currently in 8th in the region and Jordan sits currently in 7th. If both can stay in the top 12, they will qualify for regionals in March.
