Aspen Williams began attending school at Knippa in third grade making this her tenth year as a Rockcrusher. The funniest experience that she recalls occurred during her junior year. It was the first day of school, and she and several classmates had just received their letterman jackets. Mrs. Alex Gembler, yearbook advisor, took the students outside for a yearbook photo. As she was trying to get the perfect angel for a great shot, she ripped her pants. She did get the good picture but had to wear basketball warm-ups for the rest of the school day, much to the amusement of many students. Aspen appreciates the opportunity to gain knowledge. While at Knippa, she has enjoyed connecting concepts that she has learned in one class to another. She has also enjoyed art class with Mrs. Dawna Sutton. She likes that art provides stress breaks and allows her to uniquely express herself. In her free time, Aspen enjoys photography, especially taking pictures of her family and friends. While at Knippa, Aspen was active in elementary and junior high UIL competition. She also participated in junior high basketball. While in high school, Aspen has competed in tennis, volleyball, and golf. She participated in OAP three of her four years. She is currently senior class president and was student council president for two years. She is a yearbook editor and a member of the G/T program. Aspen has received various art awards while at Knippa. She was also accepted into the GeoFORCE Summer Camp Program and was voted Miss KHS her senior year. She will receive her Associate of Arts degree from SWTJC in May, and she has been accepted to BYU-Idaho. When Aspen graduates, she will miss the friendships that she has made with students and teachers, especially classmates, Alexa Smith, and teacher, Mrs. Gembler, who has always been a source of encouragement for her. After graduation, Aspen plans to serve an 18-month mission for her church, beginning in October. upon completion of her assignment, she plans to attend BYU-Idaho or BYU-Provo to study nursing. Aspen is the daughter of Brady and Amy Williams. Good job, Aspen, and good luck as you pursue your goals.
