Larry Allen started attending Knippa School in the 6th grade. He has been involved in baseball, track, and Academic UIL as a Rockcrusher. Allen believes he will miss playing baseball the most after graduation. “Larry has been a four year starter on the baseball team. He always tries to do things right and has been a pleasure to coach. We’ll miss Larry next year,” stated baseball coach, Josh King. Allen’s fondest memory in school was seeing (former history instructor) Mr. Bowen act out scenes to help the students learn history. He has liked his friends, teaches, and coaches the most during his school years. Allen will graduate with a diploma from KHS as well as an Associate of Science degree from Southwest Texas Junior College. He plans to attend Texas A&M University in College Station to become a veterinarian. “I want to come back and own a mixed animal practice in Uvalde,” shared Allen. When asked about advice he would give to other students, Allen declared, “Working hard is one of the most important characteristics a person can have.”
