Knippa Basketball New Update

The Knippa Varsity girls continued District basketball action with a game against the Utopia Buffaloes on Friday, December 20. The Lady Crushers returned home with a narrow victory, 53-48. Allyna Gonzalez scored 18 points for the Knippa ladies. Kayleigh Griffin netted 15 points, including three three-point shots. Alesandra Gonzalez scored eight points, followed by Mia Reyes, dropping in seven. Others scoring for the Crushers were Claire Haughey and Lauren Haughey. The Rockcrushers won three games against the Comstock Panthers on Friday, January 3. The Lady Crushers dominated the ladies from Comstock 68-17. Allyna Gonzalez posted 32 points in the games. Claire Haughey contributed 12 points for Knippa. Kennedy Thompson and Griffin both netted six points, while Mia Reyes scored seven points. Lucy Gallegos, Lauren Haughey, and Anna Packer also scored. The JV boys recorded a 54-16 victory against Comstock. Brian Reading led the score with 19 points. Cameron Edwards scored 13, followed by Robert Zamora, who added eight points. Landon Cox, Carlos Quiroga, John Garza, and Diego Garza supplied the remaining 14 points scored. The Varsity Rockcrushers logged a 68-46 win over the Panthers. Nineteen points were scored by Jaden Rattler, top scorer for the Crushers. Gabriel Reyes put up 16, while Christian Rattler netted 10 points. Luis Hernandez achieved eight points. Chase Williams, Matthew Santos, Landon Cox, Garrett Sendejo, and Caleb Packer also contributed points. Knippa hosted the Rocksprings Angoras on Tuesday, January 7. Both Crusher teams suffered defeat. The Lady Crushers fell to Rocksprings 50-24. Allyna Gonzalez could not be stopped, however. She scored 20 points for Knippa. Katelyn Hernandez and Claire Haughey made the other point contributions. Rocksprings defeated the varsity Rockcrushers 67-56. Christian Rattler and Gabriel Reyes were the top scorers for Knippa with 15 points each. Jaden Rattler and Caleb Packer both scored eight points. The remaining seven points were tallied by Matthew Santos.
