Vincent Zavala has been attending Knippa High School since his freshman year. He has participated in tennis, UIL, and student government. “I will miss the academic and sport event trips,” commented Zavala. Zavala feels he has learned to grow and be more mature throughout his years of high school. Some of his accomplishments include winning a state championship title in tennis and state runner-up for UIL events during his junior year. “Vincent is a tremendous competitor in both academics and tennis with a fantastic work ethic as evidenced by his hours of preparation, and proven success as a state qualifier and champion in Academic UIL and doubles tennis,” said Steve Alejandro, teacher and assistant tennis coach. Zavala plans to attend Texas Tech University. He intends to double major in engineering. “Learn as much as you can,” is Zavala’s advice to Knippa students. “Although Knippa isa very tough school, if you apply yourself, you will succeed.” “I smile each time I see this outstanding athlete and scholar. I wish Vincent all the best in his future endeavors,” stated tennis coach, Beth Speer.
