Luis Hernandez has been attending Knippa School since the 6th grade. His funniest experiences in school have been hanging out with friends and basketball and baseball practice. One of the things Hernandez has like most while in high school is obtaining college credits. “This is the first year I have had Luis as a student in my classes. He is an excellent student with an outstanding work ethic. He is cheerful at all times and remains a very humble young man,” stated teacher, Steve Alejandro. Hernandez has been active in basketball, baseball, and track. He is also the current Mr. KHS. Some of the accomplishments he has experienced include being part of a District Champion basketball team, being named 2nd Team All-district in baseball and selected twice as Honorable Mention All-district. His future plans include attending Brigham Young University Idaho and become a nurse. Hernandez will miss the closeness with friends he has had while attending Knippa. His recommendation to middle and high school student is to take school seriously. “I have Coached Luis Hernandez for three years and he has been one of the hardest working kids I have ever had in both academics and sports. He is a joy to be around and his positive energy lifts up everyone around him. He is a captain on the basketball team and a leader both on and off the court. I have had the privilege to watch him grow into an outstanding young man,” commented Chris Olivares, basketball coach.
